Myra Falls Mine is an underground mine operation located 90 km southwest of Campbell River,
BC in the picturesque surroundings of Strathcona Provincial Park, which is a testament to our environmental commitment-the only underground mine operation in a provincial park in
Canada. Surrounded by mountains and lakes, the trip to the mine has some of the world’s most impressive views. Bus transportation is provided for first shift in / last out.

Relocation assistance to the Campbell River area may be available. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada. This is a union position.

Qualifications

· Previous grinding experience required

· Knowledge & understanding of what safe production means.

· Work collaboratively with supervisory, maintenance & technical personnel and operators responsible for other processes, equipment and /or systems.

Working Conditions

· Employee will be required to walk on uneven surfaces.

· Must be able to lift 50lbs.

· Employees will be required to climb ladders, stairs, and conveyor galleys.

· Employee will be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

· Employee will be exposed to loud noises and dusty work environments.

Responsibilities

· Safely operate the rod mill and ball mill circuits.

· Take samples of the mill discharges regularly according to Standard Operating Procedures for density and grind monitoring.

· Monitor and inspect all grinding area pieces of equipment which include but not limited to pumps, hydro cyclones, vibrating screens, gravity concentrators and feed conveyors.

· Mix reagents as required.

· Follow all pre-operational checks and procedural requirements for safe start-up, efficiently operate and safely shutdown all area equipment.

· Perform Lock Out and Tag Out procedures on area equipment as required.

· Troubleshoot, correct and report grinding circuit upsets and equipment abnormalities when required.

· Ensure proper sampling is done so that Key Performance Indicators can be monitored.

· Complete and maintain shift logs and reports to the level of detail required, ensuring accuracy of the reported data.

· Operate various pieces of auxiliary and mobile equipment when required.

· Share best practices and experiences with other operators.

· Assist Maintenance and perform other labor activities safely when required.

· Perform other duties safely as required by the Shift Supervisor.
