The Municipal Group of Companies, based in Bedford Nova Scotia, is a large, diversified organization engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction, mining, and environmental services industries within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently seeking the expertise of a Health and Safety Administrator to join our team from our head office based in Bedford, NS.

Job Summary:

The Health and Safety Administrator reports to the Senior Director of Safety and performs administrative work in support of the management of Health and Safety programs and Workers’ Compensation claims.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Routine data entry and maintenance of various databases
  • Maintenance of various spreadsheets, data analysis and reporting
  • Reconciling of multiple data sources to ensure consistency and data integrity
  • Filing of electronic and paper documents
  • Take accurate minutes in meetings
  • Maintain and distribute communications contact lists
  • Route incoming and outgoing communication to appropriate parties
  • Assist with projects, events and development of reports and presentations
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:

  • 1-3 years experience in a similar office administrative role
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Good planning and organization skills, ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • 1-3 years experience in Health and Safety or Disability Management is considered an asset
  • Experience with eCompliance, IS Networld, and/or Avetta is considered an asset
