Cleantek is looking to hire an HSE Manager that will ideally be based out of Grande Prairie or surrounding area, but could be based as far south as Leduc or surrounding areas. We may be open to other base locations depending on the candidates experience.


Reporting to President and CEO or his delegate, the individual in the HSE Manager role is responsible for implementing the organization’s corporate requirements and compliance to Occupational Health and Safety legislation. The HSE Manager will work collaboratively with site staff and serve as a subject matter expert resource to the field. This role is also responsible for the development and delivery of employee training as it relates to HSE. The ideal candidate is as comfortable dealing with his fellow co-workers and wellsite clients as they are with government officials and .


This position will likely be responsible for providing the knowledge and expertise in the area of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG). You will help to build a framework that can be embedded into the Company strategy that considers the ways in which ESG can generate value as it relates to Cleantek products.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement corporate safety strategies to ensure an established culture that puts priority on the safety and security of people, property, and the environment.
  • Conduct on-site inspections of facilities, field operations and general practices to assure conformance with legal requirements and organization policies.
  • Ensure corporate safety processes continue to meet COR compliance requirements.
  • Ensure all corporate personnel maintain up to date training and certifications.
  • Manage & coordinate completion of daily and monthly field paperwork including safety meetings, Hazard IDs, and other miscellaneous paperwork.
  • Ensure all company operations are conducted to minimize environmental impacts to company property, equipment, and surrounding environment.
  • Ensure safety and emergency plans comply with government regulations.
  • Develop and conduct on-site safety and other training programs.
  • Supervise safety and/or environmental personnel.
  • Investigate all incidents and completes or verifies all associated reports.
  • Manage commercial vehicle compliance and safety.
  • Conduct and/or supervise vehicle inspections.
  • Work closely with Fleet Manager to:
  • Track, record and report fuel usage and mileage of appropriate company vehicles for- IFTA filing
  • Manage ProRate program and compliance
  • Auditing and tracking of logbooks.
  • Ensure general safety requirements are maintained throughout the company.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) Designation, OH&S Designation or equivalent preferred.
  • Investigation/ Incident Training preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of previous experience in a Commercial Trucking or Oilfield Services Health & Safety role.
  • Knowledge and experience with United States HS&E rules and legislation.

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Travel is required of up to 50%
  • On-call respondent for both emergency and non-emergency safety situations outside of normal business hours
  • Additional hours may be required
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract – This is a condition of employment and may result in termination for cause if contravened.
