About the Role:

Reporting to the Manager of Training & Development and Health, Safety & Wellness the coordinator will provide support to the Human Resources Department by administrating matters relating to Training and Development, Occupational Health and Safety, Employee Wellness, policies and procedures to improve the overall effectiveness of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General

  • Through actions, supports the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan of Kerry’s Place.
  • Review and adhere to all Policies and Procedures, including: Finance & Administration; Services & Supports; Human Resources; Health & Safety, and all other.
  • Participates in ongoing meetings regarding current projects and the development of new projects for Health and Safety and Wellness and Training and Development
  • Other duties as assigned

Training and Development

  • Support the HR team in effectively meeting established objectives by assisting with the development and coordination of high impact training and development programs in line with organizational needs and priorities
  • Work in partnership with internal stakeholders and external providers as needed on the delivery of training solutions
  • Evaluate current and new programs by reviewing and measuring feedback from participants on the effectiveness and delivery of training objectives
  • Provide ongoing maintenance of the internal learning management system
  • Support skills development related to our competency framework
  • Maintain employee training records and prepare various reports for leadership regarding employees training status
  • Monitor completion of online learning and quiz components, attendance and completion of eLearning
  • Format eLearning SCORM packages for the learning management system using Adobe Captivate and other compatible software
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries in Training and Development inbox

Health, Safety and Wellness

  • Coordinate activities and provide support for Health and Safety and Wellness initiatives
  • Attend Wellness Committee meetings and participate in initiatives determined by the committee
  • Assist with data collection and site inspections
  • Prepare reports for various Health and Safety and Wellness initiatives and meetings, including regional Health and Safety presentations, JHSC meeting reports and metrics for quarterly Board Report
  • Maintain and update JHSC membership list and training requirements
  • Review and file Accident Reporting Forms, Hazard Concern Reports and AIG Insurance claims

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • HRP designation or equivalent is preferred.
  • Completion of Ontario Secondary School (or equivalent) and Human Resources experience complimented by training and/or education in Human Resources.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 2-3 years’ relevant experience

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
  • Strong organizational, time management and planning skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with applicable legislation and regulations
  • Working knowledge of computers and software such as: Microsoft Office, Email and Adobe
  • Demonstrated flexibility, innovation and creativity
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Self motivated and self directed

Additional Requirements:

  • A valid G2 license and access to a personal vehicle is required for business travel to various Kerry’s Place sites within the GTA
  • Candidate must be available to work 50% of their scheduled hours at Head Office location in Newmarket
