Title: Indigenous Career Partner
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Location: Park Royal Office, West Vancouver B.C. – Hybrid (minimum 50% in-office)

About the role
As the Indigenous Career Partner, you’ll be an important member of the FNHA’s Recruitment team, providing career assistance and resources to Indigenous candidates and employees. You will work to improve Indigenous experience and support services, alongside overseeing FNHA’s new Indigenous Student Program. This includes coordinating and facilitating Indigenous student orientation, information sessions both internally and externally, and conversations with post-secondary institutions. Additionally, you will conduct regular check-ins with students, provide career support, and conduct student exit interviews.

We are looking for a qualified team player with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You will work in collaboration with partners to build relationships and identify issues pertaining to the needs of Indigenous candidates and staff, utilizing feedback to develop creative solutions and provide meaningful results.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Diploma in a relevant field (career development / recruitment / counselling / coaching) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Degree in Business Administration or HR is an asset.
  • 3-4 years of experience in career advising and/or full cycle recruitment with interviewing experience.
  • Experience working in First Nations organizations or communities. We require knowledge and lived experience of historical events and impacts on Indigenous Peoples and career paths for this role as you are working closely with Indigenous candidates and employees.
  • Demonstrated success with relationship building across all levels within an organization, post-secondary institutions, and with candidates.
