We are currently seeking competent individuals to fulfill the role of Technology Architect to join our dynamic team to work at our client.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical architecture for solutions in a method that is consistent with enterprise frameworks.
  • Consistently apply industry best practices and scalable components.
  • Analyze proposed changes against the technology ecosystem to assess feasibility; and understand the effect on the solution, data collection and interfaces.
  • Leading the evaluation and assessment of inbound requests from business partners, in collaboration with solutions and enterprise architecture.
  • Design highly effective system architecture and provide peer support to internal teams and vendors as needed.
  • Identify and lead efforts to remedy risks and issues while establishing effective paths to resolution.
  • Develop the architecture artifacts in a manner consistent with OCS best practices and review with key stakeholders on a consistent basis.
  • Recommending technical solutions that align to OCS architecture roadmap and IT strategic plan with a lens of maximizing the customer experience while optimizing IT spend and reducing operational risk.
  • Providing technical guidance to platform and development teams during the development and implementation of various solutions.
  • Thought leadership, research and analysis to understand evolving industry trends and best practices and align OCS IT to best-in-class standards.
  • Ensuring the OCS enterprise architecture framework is aligned to the IT strategic plan
  • Evaluating inbound IT initiatives and projects and recommending technical solutions that are aligned to the IT strategic plan.
  • Conducting research and analysis on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to inform IT strategy and decision-making.
  • Collaborating with business and IT stakeholders to develop architecture roadmap and ensure alignment of proposed solutions to OCS IT plan.
  • Collaborating with IT development and operations teams to design and implement solutions.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with business stakeholders, IT teams, and senior management to ensure alignment between IT strategy and business objectives.
  • Preparing and presenting reports to OCS IT and business leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Communicating technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

Must have skills:

  • 5+ years of experience of overall software development
  • 5+ years of experience of solution architecture, preferably in retail or regulated industries (banking, telecom, public sector)
  • Experience in working with teams operating in Waterfall (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Proficient in asynchronous communication pattern using message queue handling techniques such as polling, pushing and listening (e.g. RabbitMQ)
  • Proven work experience with ERP systems (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics, SAP and Oracle)
  • Strong working proficiency in cloud- based services (Azure / AWS / GCP) environment.
  • Strong understanding of web APIs and familiarity of development with JavaScript, HTML, Ruby on Rails and CSS.
  • Experience with the Microsoft D365 API specification and development skills including RESTful API integration (using OData)
  • Experience designing and integrating web-interfaces with Web APIs using REST (JSON) and XML / JSON parsing techniques.

Education:

  • Completed Post-Secondary education in computer science, IT or related areas OR equivalent combination of experience and completed post-secondary education

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months

Salary: From $100.00 per hour
