Pund-IT is seeking a talented IT professional to help support all aspects of our Managed Services Client base; helping manage thousands of client assets, primarily across South-Western Ontario, you bring experience on and with operating systems, networks, server/desktop/mobile hardware, SaaS services, implementation projects and migrations to bear, supporting and supported by your colleagues.

You are resourceful, usually only need to see things once, are comfortable with shifting priorities, risk management, and collaborating on trade-offs. You use excellent written, verbal and professional communication habits to keep your stakeholders in the loop and onside in good times and bad. Most of your work will be accomplished remotely, with some physical visits to client sites, as needs be.

You will:

  • Support Clients and Pund-IT operations via phone, email, online submitted tickets, and onsite as required.
  • Install, configure, assemble, maintain/update, monitor and repair computers, network infrastructure (LANs, WANs, VLANS, routers, switches, monitoring), peripherals (such as printers and related hardware) and SaaS tools.
  • Plan and complete migrations of systems (such as on-premise Exchange to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, or between different types of Hypervisors, etc).
  • Work as a key team member, deploying Managed Services and T&M (Time & Materials) labour as guided by corporate standards and client contracts.
  • Use and help evolve Pund-IT’s processes, documentation and notes in all you do.
  • Document your work and use Pund-IT systems to ensure that your work is auditable and reportable so as to support building the team store of knowledge, root cause analysis of issues, and address client questions.
  • Be very fluent in professional written and spoken English.
  • Use initiative and independent judgment within established contractual agreements, guidelines and procedures.
  • Support colleagues (particularly in the sales cycle) by assisting with defining job specifications/projects and reviewing proposed communications.
  • Participate in Pund-IT’s paid on-call emergency support rotation; provide remote and on-site after-hours support as needed.

You Have:

  • Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience relating to Computer Systems Technology.
  • Excellent general troubleshooting and knowledge acquisition strategies.
  • Experience with installing, configuring, assembling, maintaining, updating, migrating and repairing systems and equipment as described above and common issues that will arise with both systems and people from doing undertaking such work.
  • Experience with using & maintaining procedures in undertaking the described work.
  • Techniques for explaining technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users.
  • Working knowledge of general networking (DHCP, DNS, Routing, NAT, firewalling, VLANs, etc)
  • General Unix skills (Linux, primarily)
  • Working knowledge of Windows networking (Active Directory, Group Policy, file sharing/migration, licensing services, RDP)
  • Strong VMWare skills.
  • VoIP - basic SIP and QoS knowledge an asset
  • Strong Experience with:Systems: Windows Server 2016+,
  • Standard System Administration experience with:Databases: SQL Server, MySQL

Helpful Assets you may possess include:

  • Related Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree relating to Computer Systems Technology.
  • Relevant certifications, such as from Microsoft, VMWare, CCISSP, ISO, and other various vendors.
  • General experience with hypervisors beyond VMWare.
  • Project Management experience; formal education in the PMP framework a plus.
