Duties and Responsibilities
- Cash receipt entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliations
- Contract set up in dedicated Contract management software
- Satisfying customer service queries. Internal department queries and problem solving
- accounting for real estate developments, complex financial instruments, financial analysis of said investments and developing their knowledge of Canadian tax
- Account payment histories
- Tax remittances
- Compilation and distribution of daily management reports
- Compliance reporting
- Reconciling bank statements and general ledgers
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
- Other accounting duties that management may require
Skills Knowledge & Experience
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Relevant university degree or college diploma combined with two years of work experience
- Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, policies and procedures and budgeting methods
- Detail orientated, with excellent organizational and follow up skills
- Ability to produce and manage daily management reporting requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Energetic team player with ability to work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of Great Plains would be an asset
