JUNIOR CONTROLLER

Pertinent Information: Full-time, direct hire position located in Leamington. Steady days, Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Non-automotive. Benefits and comprehensive benefits package. Full details to be provided during the interview process.

Wage: $70,000 - $75,000/year.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Junior Controller is responsible for the ownership of divisional entries, physical inventory counts, accounts payable, payroll, forecasting, variance analyst and month end close.

Responsibilities to include the following, but not limited to:

• Preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Monthly close, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Preparation of forecasts and budgets.
• Cost accounting and monthly manufacturing cost variance analysis.
• Assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
• Working with offsite shared service teams. (AP, AR, Fixed assets, Payroll)
• Preparation of and submission of regulatory taxes and reports.
• Preparing and updating Cash Forecasts.
• Assisting with capital expenditure processes.
• Ensuring all costs are properly approved and accounted for.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting
• Minimum five (5) years related accounting experience
• Accounting designation or working towards highly preferable
• Familiar with Consumer-Packaged Goods within in a manufacturing setting.
• Familiar with Build of Materials (BOM), Labor allocations, and inventory tracking.
• Strong knowledge in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Knowledge on SAGE 300 or similar ERP software.
• Process driven
• Experience using data manipulation tools and building visualizations using large datasets and multiple data sources.
• Ability to develop accurate, concise, and clear data presentations that lead data-driven business decisions.
• Demonstrate an analytical mindset, enjoy problem solving and understand how to ask the right questions to deliver solution focused outcomes.
• Excellent initiative and follow-up skills, and ability to carry out a variety of responsibilities.
• Knowledge and familiarity with financial reporting, IFRS knowledge a plus
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, learn autonomously, and highly organized.
• Fast learner for fast-paced work environment.
