With over 45 years of experience and continuous growth, our Expercom division is looking to fill the position of Construction Labourer for the Kingston.

Position status: This is a full-time position.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Working under the supervision of the field supervisor, he/she will assist the team with the installation of telecommunications infrastructure (buried cable, wire or ducts).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Will execute all work assigned safely

· Will assist with general site preparation and cleanup

· Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites

· Assist with traffic control

· Will perform all other duties as required by operations manager or field supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:

• Completion of high school
• Minimum 2 years of related experience in the construction industry
• Previous experience with underground communication networks ( an asset)
• Must have good oral communication skills and be able to work with others
• Must be able to safely lift 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Must be able to work in restricted and tight spaces and at heights
• Must have a valid driver’s license and provide a clean driving record (abstract) and pass a criminal check prior to employment commencing
• Previous experience torpedoing (considered an asset)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to perform the physical demands of the position’s work tasks. These include but not limited to: working outdoors and in confined spaces, movement of equipment and/or materials, frequent climbing of ladders, frequent lifting and pulling of telecommunication cable in excess of 15 lbs. Attention to detail. Will be required to stand for extended periods of time.
