Yard Helpers, Penners and Sorters
Nilsson Bros Inc. (‘NBI’) and Heartland Livestock Services are a group of
livestock based agricultural businesses in western Canada. NBI and Heartland
own and operate a diverse group of agri-businesses in British Columbia, Alberta,
Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
NBI and Heartland Livestock Services are looking for hardworking, passionate
and team-oriented people to join our team in the following locations: Dawson
Creek B.C., St. Michael AB, Provost AB, Assiniboia SK, Weyburn SK, Peebles
SK, Swift Current SK, Lloydminster SK, Yorkton SK, Moose Jaw SK,
Brandon MB and Virden MB.
Duties for Yard Helpers, Penners and Sorters include:
Cleaning stables, barnyards and pens
Feeding and tending cattle
Receiving and loading cattle into transport trucks
Opening and closing gates
Running down alleys to guide the cattle
Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
Working directly with livestock
Processing (running through chute, ear tagging, etc.)
Misc. repairs and maintenance
Lifting required when cleaning with a shovel
Other duties as required
Wage to commensurate with experience. Candidates will be expected to work
with cattle on a daily basis performing the above duties in an auction mart
atmosphere which will entail working outdoors. Candidates must be able bodied
and be able to work a full shift from 8 am to 5 pm or longer when necessary to
complete an auction sale. Candidates with previous farming experience will be
considered an asset, but is not required.
