Machine Learning Engineer

Webmainland Media Ltd. is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing machine learning models to improve the performance of our data-driven, cross-cultural neighbourhood engagement engine.

"You will work closely with a team of product, design, and software development professionals to understand the requirements and constraints of the current renter and landlord matching process, and to reduce the mismatch rate for improved productivity."

This role is highly strategic and uniquely positioned to drive impact as we continue to innovate and modify our core products and shape the future of our business.

What We Do

The growing immigrant community has uncovered the lack of connection between local communities and newcomers. Webmainland Media bridges the inclusion gap between the Canadian local community and Chinese newcomers and immigrants. Founded in October 2015, our journey started by building a data-driven, cross-cultural neighborhood engagement engine to assist new immigrants and newcomers in home settlement and accessing diverse local community resources.

We provide AI-enabled community engagement specialist solutions to speed up newcomers' settlement process. Not only can our community engagement specialists help newcomers connect with landlords who have matched settlement homes, but newcomers in the neighborhoods also receive curated information about housing and various community resources, which allows them to gain locality and feel like they belong to their new Canadian community. Our solutions are proven to foster social inclusion.

The R&D

To address the inclusion issues, we have gathered a group of web designers, data scientists, writers, analysts, and programmers to build streamlined neighborhood engagement solutions for diverse stakeholders. Together, we create new neighborhoods.

What makes Webmainland's neighborhood engagement experience unique is the human touch provided by the community engagement specialists who help renters find settlement homes and connect with landlords. In the backend, the rental home matching process conducted by community engagement specialists is enabled by AI models and automation, which improve the matching efficiency.

Furthermore, we can build a newcomer database that allows various community stakeholders to reach potential newcomer customers through engagement automation under various brands and automation solutions.

Our extensive offerings include:

RealtorAccess: a platform that allows realtors to engage with the local Chinese community and deliver their expertise directly from their desktops.

Linli Talk: a smart social connector where neighbors are exposed to curated group gatherings to introduce them to a peer support network, matched English practice partners, and diverse community resources.

By building various automation to foster newcomers' integration process, data is aggregated, creating a neighborhood information center that empowers all community stakeholders with a more cost-efficient engagement process.
