Lehigh Hanson is looking for a Maintenance Manager for our operations in Sechelt, BC. Reporting to the Mine Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing and managing the repair and maintenance of fixed plant equipment and machinery and for supervising and supporting site fixed plant maintenance personnel. The maintenance manager directs a robust preventative maintenance program.

The maintenance manager oversees a maintenance planner, maintenance supervisors, and 20 maintenance tradespersons (warehouseperson, millwrights, welders, electricians).

What you’ll get to do:

  • Lead department and site positive health & safety outcomes through employee engagement and risk reduction
  • Ensure plant reliability through execution of an effective maintenance program
  • Supervise and delegate work to maintenance crew and on-site contractors
  • Plan down time and organize crew and equipment for scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance; coordinate with the production department to prioritize work
  • Support new equipment installations by coordinating resources, labour, and materials
  • Identify, source, and order required replacement parts
  • Maintain equipment repair history records
  • Determine the cause of breakdowns and provide improvement recommendations to reduce downtime and costs

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Trades Qualification, or Engineering educational background is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations and BC Mines Code
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn new software
  • Proven organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
