Your Opportunity:

You will be working in the supervision of Manager plant operation and a lead person This position is a Building operator in Main Foothills Medical Center, Engineering and maintenance department. As an operator you will be working with team of three operators, instrumentation Techs, and other trades personnels. You will have opportunity to work your skills as a building operator and learn from other trades as well.

Description:

As a Maintenance Worker IV, you will perform a variety of highly skilled and complex maintenance and repair work requiring considerable initiative and judgment in determining the appropriate work methods consistent with standards, regulations and procedures. You will utilize your supervisory and/or maintenance skills and experience to perform preventative maintenance and repair duties on specialized equipment and building control systems, and to provide leadership and direction to other maintenance staff in order to meet operational requirements. In addition, you will perform specialized machine repairs, as well as the maintenance and monitoring of systems and equipment. You may be responsible to resolve escalated operational issues; act as a delegate for the Manager on operational issues; participate in the recruitment and selection of new staff; assisting the design and implementation of preventative maintenance programs; estimate project costs; and liaise with outside agencies and contractors.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or technical certification in a related field required or 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines where boiler support is necessary.

Additional Required Qualifications:

You need three-years' experience in a complex building or hospital settings. Ability to work in team environment and alone some time in extreme temperature and weather conditions.
