Reporting to the Director, Research, Innovation & International Relations, the Manager Data Stewardship supports NOSM University’s institutional data management activities and research strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

The position provides managerial support to NOSM University’s research centres, institutes and Chairs. Working collaboratively, the Manager oversees delegated administrative activities including fiscal, human resources, facilities, agreements, operational planning and reporting requirements that contribute to the excellence of NOSM University’s research strategic initiatives. Additional responsibilities include the implementation and management of the institutional data strategy, the warehousing of institutional data along with facilitating access for internal stakeholders and researchers. This includes working with a variety of University leadership team members, including oversight by the University Provost, in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of institutional data initiatives at NOSM University, ensuring legislative compliance, reporting for accreditation purposes, supporting the strategic plan and generally ensuring good data management for NOSM University’s institutional data

Qualifications

Education

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree along with five years of related experience. A Data Management certification is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Additional qualifications include experience in management of individuals in a unionized environment, and research administration and data management best practices in a university setting. An effective leader, the successful candidate has demonstrated team building, conflict management and interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple competing projects and priorities. An effective team player, the successful candidate has strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and work under pressure. Preference will be given to individuals with experience administering research contracts and agreements coupled with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Language

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbally, written and comprehension)
  • French/Indigenous language skills would be considered asset
