Marketing and Communications Manager

The Marketing and Communications Manager will report to the Vice President, Leasing and Marketing and will be responsible for the execution of the strategic marketing and communications plan for a commercial real estate portfolio of over 3 million square feet. This includes development and management of the annual marketing plan and budget, maximizing brand awareness via all platforms and communication internally while nurturing and maintaining collaborative working relationships within KRP.

Please note, this particular opportunity may have the flexibility of a hybrid work environment while combined with a predominantly in-office presence at our main office location in Kanata, ON. Some travel may also be required from time to time.

General Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the design, development and maintenance of Internet, Intranet and mobile applications to manage an organization's online presence including public relations, communications, commercial activities and social media management;
  • Design marketing communications plans and programs to KRP clients to maximize user registration, traffic and engagement;
  • Lead the development and implementation of marketing programs, promotions, and enhancements to KRP’s Advantage Card loyalty program;
  • Optimize the use of marketing and media vehicles to drive awareness and demand (i.e., site-specific websites, print, public relations, event and email campaigns, as well as other marketing activities);
  • Responsible for ensuring that media plans and budgets are maintained;
  • Responsible for the management and supervision of the Marketing and Leasing Coordinator to ensure complete leasing, marketing, and brand alignment of programs;
  • Assist in the development of brochures and marketing videos as required;
  • Plan, execute and track all marketing programs such as email drip campaigns, events, social media calendar and/or content marketing;
  • Staying current on trends and increase engagement in our social channels and communities by overseeing content creation for platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter;
  • Create, develop and facilitate the delivery of internal communication strategies that drive awareness and build understanding of corporate strategy, culture, business priorities and the employee value proposition;
  • Roll out new technologies, systems, and tools across the business to drive employee productivity, client support and continuously improve privacy and security;
  • Chair the annual KRP charity golf tournament committee;
  • Complete any other duties as requested or required from time to time;

Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Successful completion of post-secondary education in a Business or Marketing related discipline or equivalent practical experience;
  • Must have 5-10 years of related experience in marketing, communications and customer service with 2-3 years of project management experience;
  • Proven Supervisory and/or Management experience;
  • General knowledge of the commercial real estate market;
  • Previous experience managing a marketing team;
  • Expert level knowledge of B2B marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social, digital, and email marketing;
  • Experienced working with CMS, Automation, CRM, and digital analytics programs;
  • Creative style and effective Brand awareness approaches;
  • Strong attention to detail and superior organizational and project management abilities;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to communicate directly with clients, vendors and KRP team members;
  • Ability to balance numerous projects concurrently and prioritize deliverables on a daily basis;
  • Excel in a team environment but can also work independently;
  • Strong computer literacy and proficient in the Microsoft 365 suite;
  • Proficiency in the following software is an asset: Adobe Creative Cloud, Premier and Photoshop, iMovie, In Design, WordPress, Social Sprout and Canva;
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment following and enforcing the KRP Safety Policy program and procedures;
  • A Criminal Record Check will be a requirement of employment.
