The Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce is one of the province's largest and longest-serving business associations, representing the interests of Langley businesses for over 90 years.

The Membership Development Lead manages and executes all aspects of the chamber’s membership efforts, and seeks to grow the chamber by attracting and onboarding new members into the organization. In addition the new member development, the Membership Lead also plays a key role in membership retention and renewal, working in partnership with the Membership Coordinator and the CEO.

This position will build relationships and connections with existing and new members, representing the Chamber brand positively as they engage with the Langley business community.

Reports to: CEO

Key Responsibilities

· Leads the Chamber’s new member acquisition efforts, including developing sales, outreach and recruitment strategies to identify non-member leads and grow the Chamber’s membership

· Managing the member renewal process, including following up with direct, personal outreach to past-due members to re-engage in the chamber, overcome objections and confirm renewal, working in partnership with the Membership Coordinator and CEO

· Managing the new member onboarding process, including welcoming and engaging new members, and providing key information, resources and connections

· Administration of the Chambers Plan group benefits program, including overseeing membership status of enrollees, and working with the CEO and the Chambers Plan marketing partner to develop and deliver marketing support and promotion

· Manage existing member benefits programs, encourage member uptake and participation, and work with the CEO on development of new or enhanced member benefit offerings

· Assist CEO with trends analysis, reporting and other data necessary to manage results of chamber efforts

· Managing and leading internal chamber committees and attending external stakeholder meetings as directed

· Other duties and tasks needed by the organization and as directed

Key Skills and Attributes

· Experience or interest in sales, including cultivating leads, pursuing sales appointments and closing

· Strong telephone, written/email, and spoken communication skills

· A team player, willing to contribute to the bigger picture and organizational goals

· Ability to deal tactfully with other staff members and the general public

· Ability to build and maintain relationships and partnerships

· Valid BC Driver’s license and use of personal vehicle
