We are currently seeking a relief part time (0.80 FTE) MHSU Support Worker to join our Mental Health & Substance Use team at the Boundary Health Centre and Midway Health Unit in Grand Forks, B.C. This relief is until the return of the incumbent.

What will you work on?

The MHSU Support Worker's purpose is to ensure that persons with severe and persistent mental health problems and/or substance use disorders have access to timely, responsive, evidence based psychosocial rehabilitation across the continuum of available services.

As a MHSU Support Worker you will provide basic care management as well as establish rehabilitation objectives and plans for assigned client populations. You will perform a variety of life skills, advocacy, supportive counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation planning, and general support duties involving clients who are living in their own housing.

Shifts of work are scheduled between Monday and Friday from 08:30-16:30 hours.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Grade 12

  • Diploma in a field relevant to the position (ie: community social services, rehabilitation)

  • Two years recent related experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and substance use problems; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Food Safe Certificate
