The successful candidate will be located in one of the mill locations and report to the Manager - Metallurgical Services.

Accountabilities:
  • Implements the metallurgical parameters (chemistry, rolling, finishing, testing) required to meet the customer ordered grade specification.
  • Monitors and improves product performance for the continuous improvement of product quality and cost.
  • Provide cross-functional support to Operations, Shipping, Sales, Customer Service and Product Development.
  • Provides support to determine the root cause of product defects and customer claims.

Qualifications :
  • Our preferred candidate will have a minimum four-year Degree in Materials or Metallurgical engineering from an accredited University with eligibility to obtain Professional Engineers of Ontario membership after completion of all training requirements.
  • Consideration will be given to candidates with a four-year Engineering Degree
  • Working knowledge of modern PC based analytical software.
  • Advanced personal computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Will be self-motivated and be able to work in a team atmosphere with minimum supervision.
  • Proven ability to solve problems.
  • Good organizational and leadership skills.
  • Previous experience working in an Engineering Department or related work situations will be an asset.
