MWB CONTRACTING INC. is seeking a PERMANENT FULL-TIME WELDER/MILLWRIGHT to join our growing team.

SALARY RANGE: $30-45 / hour

DUTIES

  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Setting up components for welding according to specifications
  • Aligning components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Welding components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  • Repairing machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Inspecting welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to prepare parts that must be welded and/or to fabricate parts required
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of level 3-4 apprentice or 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • CWB Certified (all positions) or equivalent experience
  • Ontario College of Trades Certificate (Red Seal) or equivalent experience
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
  • Secondary High School Certificate
  • Valid G Driver’s License
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings and work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to carry out complex mathematical calculations
  • Ability to travel to remote work site and perform under extreme conditions such as inclement weather, when required
  • Flexible work schedule; weekend, shift work, overtime
  • Physical abilities, math skills and attention to details

Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay (Overtime after 10 hours Monday to Thursday, Overtime Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
  • Field Premiums ($3/hour - local field work)
