What does a Security Guard in Toronto do?


Complete scheduled patrols of client sites, locations, buildings and other property

  • Respond to alarms of varying severity from active Break & Enter alarms, Fire alarms/ trouble signals & subject removals
  • Frequent interaction with vulnerable population
  • Able to comprehend alarm monitoring systems, point of alarms, trouble shoot errors etc
  • Operate company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner
  • Become certified as Municipal Law Enforcement Officer under appropriate City bylaws
  • Attend court and provide testimony as needed
  • Creating incident reports and reporting information to central dispatch
  • Completing vehicle inspection reports at start/end of shift.
  • Able to maintain constant control of issued keys & all equipment


Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Toronto

  • Valid Ontario Security license.
  • Valid G2 license or above. (Must be able to provide a clean Driver's abstract at time of application)
  • Able to drive vehicle in all weather conditions/ time of day
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Positive team attitude
  • Able to work 12 hour shifts
  • Able to sit. stand, walk, drive for extended period of time.
  • 24/7 Availability required as a wide range of shifts are available and expected
  • Be eligible to work in Canada
