Work Status: Part-Time (24 hours per week)
Location: Edmonton, AB (Onsite)

About the Role:
Global News Edmonton is looking for a part-time News Producer to join their team. Reporting to the Executive Producer, you will be responsible for overseeing and producing news and feature content for Global News programs. Shifts may include early mornings, days, afternoons, evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. This position is Group F in the Collective Agreement.

You'll be working on things like:
  • Oversee, write, and produce content for various newscasts
  • Take newscasts to air in the control room and drive market-leading ratings performance through story selection and lineup choices
  • Oversee editorial decision-making around content choices
  • Perform other duties as required
If you have the following...we want to hear from you!
  • Post-secondary education in a broadcast-related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience working in broadcast (as a journalist, producer, production assistant, etc.)
  • Previous experience in a newsroom required
  • Previous control room experience is preferred
  • Strong familiarity with both broadcast and online journalism, particularly news writing, newscast lineups, video editing, content production and social media
  • Recognized ability to both lead a team and work in collaboration with team members
  • A familiarity with Global News, both on-air and online
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to make quick decisions under pressure while meeting tight deadlines
  • Willingness to adapt to rapidly changing technology and workflows
