S.M.A.R.T. Tutoring and Test Preparation Services (Barrie, ON) is recruiting qualified TEACHERS and TEACHER-CANDIDATES to tutor K-12 students online via Google Meet or Zoom. We are looking for teachers who wish to offer their services through Private Tutoring (1:1) and/ or Small-Group Tutoring (5:1).

This is an ideal position for you if you are qualified to teach in one or more of the following:

- Kindergarten

- Primary/ Junior (Math and Language)

- Intermediate Math

- Intermediate English

- Senior Math (Calculus, Functions, Data Management)

- Senior English

- Senior Science (Chemistry, Physics, Biology)

Work Environment

S.M.A.R.T. Tutoring and Test Preparation Services was built by teachers for teachers. Our team is made up of Ontario Certified Teachers and students who are working on their degrees in Education. We value collaboration, communication, and community.

S.M.A.R.T. Tutors are matched with students based on their teaching qualifications and availability. Tutors work with the same families on a weekly basis, and they make their own schedules to fit their needs.

S.M.A.R.T. Tutors work individually, but operate as a team. Tutors focus their efforts on their students’ progress and rely on our administration team handle the rest.

We follow the Ontario curriculum. Tutors draw from student resources, their own teaching materials, and access our collection of shared resources. As a team, we troubleshoot our challenges and celebrate our wins within our online group.

Related Skills and Experience

- Online teaching/ tutoring experience with Zoom and/or Google Meet

- Communication skills to clearly and confidently explain information

- Computer skills to complete monthly documentation (Word format)

- Organizational skills to manage time and meet due dates

- Applicants must have, or currently be working on a Bachelors Degree in Education.

- OCT Certification preferred.

Tutoring Hours

- Set your own schedule. Tutor 3-20 hours per week.

- Tutoring typically happens after school (September – June) 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm

- Applicants must be able to tutor a minimum of three hours per week and be available until the end of the 2022/2023 school year.
