OPDL Head Coach


Position Status: Part Time contract

Location: Kingston, Ontario

Reports to: Technical Director

Start Date: 2023 season

Job Title: OPDL Head Coach


Kingston United Soccer Club is seeking a head coach that will compete during the 2023 season. The role

will also include a number of administration tasks working with the Head of High Performance and the

Technical Director.

OPDL Background

The OPDL is a standard-based, high performance youth league that combines top-level competition with

performance development and training standards. The OPDL is the mechanism for inclusion into the

Provincial Program. Players begin to be monitored by Ontario Soccer staff at the U13 level. KUSC has

been an OPDL License Holder since 2019.

Overview

The chosen candidate(s) will work under the guidance of the club’s Technical Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver the technical and tactical coaching program (practice sessions). (3 sessions per week)
  • Conduct match preparation meetings and analysis with the team
  • Coach and travel with the team to all competitions
  • Utilize coaching resources and software to plan and manage training sessions and game play (KUSC

will provide access to video analysis, academy soccer coach, and TeamSnap)

  • Establish a periodized season plan aligned with the technical direction of the club and in keeping with

OPDL requirements

  • Prepare player evaluations as requested by Ontario Soccer
  • Conduct Individual Development Plan Player Meetings

Competencies and Skills Required

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Possess a minimum of Canada Soccer B License or Youth Licence
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and time management skills
  • Pro-active
  • Support and promote Ontario Soccer Long-term Player Development Plan (LTPD)
  • Responsible for the safety and welfare of all players under your care
  • Good knowledge of the game


Salary:

Will be based upon qualifications and experience.
