Job Summary

Critical responsibilities include planning, developing and maintaining operational projects and initiatives related to product flow, inventory management, layout planning and production optimization for the Pharmaceutical Distribution Centre located in Edmonton, Alberta.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Work with management to prioritize information needs: Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns, problematic areas using statistical techniques and suggest improvements in complex data sets for the Distribution Centre Plan and assist in the implementation of supply chain optimization initiatives or projects related to operational changes – short & medium terms – such as DC layout, warehouse-slotting, route planning, merchandise flow, capacity planning, inventory – aging, DOH, risks, damages – quality and service

  • Plan the movement of merchandise for advertised, seasonal & event programs Track KPIs and report on supply chain’s performance, extract value from KPI and explain variance Work with cross-functional teams to analyze, plan and assist in the management of production activities, plans and schedules to ensure continuous operations

  • Highlight potential risks and opportunities and formulate & execute process improvement, action & mitigation plans

  • Analyze consumption and production rates and determine production efficiency Develop standard procedures to optimize workflow locally or nationally

  • Evaluate issues, analyze root causes and recommend improvements to maintain production integrity, consistency and quality

  • Help analyze and assess the impact of the proposed projects, while taking into account schedules and effort/budgets, and follow up with regional management to ensure proper implementation

  • Collaboratively lead local and / or regional projects

  • Act as an expert in your field, providing ideas / innovations, opinions and advice to others

  • Create and deliver quality presentations with the purpose of informing, instructing, inspiring or persuading an audience

Position Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in a similar operational technical role, with a robust understanding of supply chain, material management, merchandise flow and / or production operations

  • Post secondary education in related field strongly preferred.

  • A combination of education and related experience may also be considered

  • Knowledge of Power BI, Devexpress, Access, Excel, and AS400 with advanced proficiency to manipulate and extract system data

  • Proven track record in preparing operational analyses and business plans is strongly preferred

  • Experience in project management, including practices, techniques and tool is strongly preferred

  • PMP designation an asset

  • Lean Six Sigma an asset

  • Organized and methodical, with a thorough work method Proven problem-solving, detail oriented and decision-making skills

  • Able to work independently

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written skills

  • Able to plan and lead facilitation sessions
