WORK SCHEDULE:

14 days on / 7 days off, 10 hours/day (Day shift), Fly In / Fly Out

REPORTS TO:

Construction Manager - Painting

KEY OBJECTIVES:

  • Responsible for delivering and maintaining high standards of work whilst carrying out the duties of this role in line with Company Values to achieve long-term success
  • The Supervisor is responsible for safe conduct of all work undertaken by the workforce under their control and for fully understanding safety requirements and standards.
  • Ensure the personnel carrying out the work understand the work requirements and that work instructions, safety instructions, and / or quality documentation are supplied, understood, and complied with by the work group.
  • Responsible for the organization and management of labour within their direct work group.
  • The position supervises work teams to ensure that all work is completed safely, on schedule, to required quality and client specifications.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

Safety, Health and Environment

  • Instruct all personnel on safety and environmental requirements and responsibilities.
  • Actively monitor work practices and coach employees to ensure adherence to correct procedures and standards for safety and environmental performance.

Customer Relationships

  • Communicate with client representatives to inform them of progress and answer queries Operational Performance
  • Plan and organize work to meet contract time schedule and maximize the efficiency and productivity of the workforce.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of company assets used by personnel.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback on any issues that may impact on schedule, budget or other areas of the project or operation.

Quality

  • Provide direction to employees and contractors on quality requirements.
  • Supervise and conduct visual inspections of work to ensure it meets required standards and client specifications.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and work performance. Financial Performance
  • Monitor costs and identify ways to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness. People and Teams

Supervise the site labour workforce:

  • assign suitable, competent and trained personnel to tasks,
  • provide information, on the job instruction and coaching to enable employees to complete tasks competently,
  • recommend training for business requirements and the development of employees,
  • regularly assess and review performance with employees, taking early action to resolve any issues.
  • manage timekeeping and review timesheet records.
  • Maintain communication and cooperative relationships within the team and with other personnel involved in the project / operation.

  • Demonstrate a willingness and capability to perform other duties as deemed appropriate and consistent with your professional qualifications, skill or experience.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant trade or high-risk qualification
  • NACE CIP Level 2 or higher required.
  • Standard safety courses, including but not limited to CSTS-20, LSE, H2S Alive, WHMIS15.
  • Site based experienced in maintenance industrial environment or construction industry
  • Experienced in the range of trades or non-trades completing works
  • Understanding of the trades and disciplines involved in site operations
  • Sound computer skills, able to use word or excel
  • Written communication skills – able to prepare work reports and job instructions
  • Communicated effectively with a range of different people involved in the operations
  • Willing to work on a wide range of tasks involving on and off-site work and often irregular hours

  • Direct workforce

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months

Salary: From $38.00 per hour

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

  • Painting: 3 years (preferred)
  • Leadership: 3 years (preferred)

Language:

  • English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Journeyman Certification (preferred)
