With a head office in Acheson AB, the company has expanded covering all of Western Canada with branch offices in Saskatoon SK, Calgary AB, and Surrey BC. Westvac has three divisions carrying an extensive product line, including Heavy & Automotive Vehicle Lifts, Wheel Servicing Equipment, Garage Equipment, Hydro Excavators, Street Sweepers, Garbage/Refuse Trucks, Fire Apparatus, Municipal Articulating Tractors, Sewer Flushing Equipment, Sewer Camera Inspection Equipment, and a variety of other equipment.

Westvac currently has an immediate opening for a highly motivated and dependable full-time Parts Technician. This position will be based out of our Calgary AB location working with our Calgary team to support customers throughout the entire region. The customer base includes municipalities, municipal contractors, waste/refuse companies, fire departments, industrial contractors, maintenance garages, and more.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Source and ordering unique parts for customers from a variety of vendors as well as searching for alternative options.
  • Field customer calls and provide exceptional customer service
  • Provide consistent and positive support to customers and internal team members in a busy parts department.
  • Source and order parts for customers from a variety of vendors as well as searching for alternative options.
  • Understand and follow company processes and procedures. Often assisting with the creation, implementation, enforcement, and compliance of them.
  • Help maintain work orders and external invoices, ensuring great communication with team members and customers.
  • Utilize electronic parts catalogues, parts/unit reference books, and internal computer systems to source information.
  • Utilize the company CRM computer system for tracking customer related activities and trends.
  • Remain organized in duties related to inventory management, including bin creation & allocation, year-end counts, and performing adjustments.
  • Perform shipping/receiving duties. These include the operation of a forklift, unloading/loading trucks, part number identification/retention, picking up parts from local suppliers, and processing product transfers/sales.
  • Process orders, complete credit returns & transaction reconciliations, and accurately complete all stock transfers.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 5 years experience in a Parts Technician role.
  • Experience in a Shipping/Receiving role is an asset.
  • Experience souring parts for HD Equipment is a large plus.
  • An exceptional attitude with a strong willingness to learn.
  • A mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electro-mechanical parts is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills are a must with experience in various programs (Outlook, MS Suite).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A good work ethic is a necessity.
  • Must have effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Must have experience in a role working with a variety of equipment.
  • Experience in a Service Writer role is a plus.
  • Experience working with a maintenance shop & service team is a plus.
  • Experience in an inside-sales role is a plus.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and provide a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
