We are looking for a Production Engineer/Technologist to join our team based in St. Brieux, SK. The Production Engineer/Technologist will be responsible for overseeing and carrying out planning, implementation of process improvements, and lean project initiatives that will increase production efficiencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement the manufacturing process for new products
  • Collaborate with tooling and design engineers to minimize complexity and ensure alignment of design requirements with manufacturing and machine capabilities
  • Manage projects aimed at improving process flow while optimizing space, quality, safety, and ergonomics
  • Develop, maintain, and support a Continuous Improvement culture using lean tools focusing on the elimination of waste, while striving to provide increased value to our customers, both internal and external
  • Support production on a day-to-day basis to prevent production delays, with a focus on technical and process issues within production
  • Gauge performance of value streams, identify bottlenecks and suggest/implement changes as required
  • Design processes or tooling to improve safety, quality, productivity or cost issues for the value streams
  • Guide and perform analysis for capacity planning, cost reduction, and process control
  • Research industry best practices and make recommendations to leadership group
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring as needed to other team members regarding best practices and lean principles
  • Create and maintain value stream and cell layouts to aid in standardization of the process, production set-up and product change-over

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree or technologist diploma with a mechanical or industrial focus
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of related engineering experience is preferred (entry-level candidates may also be considered)
  • In-depth understanding of lean methodology and continuous improvements methods
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
  • High degree of analytical thought and creativity
  • 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks is preferred)
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience with ERP software
