Program and Policy Advisor Job at Government of Saskatchewan
The Municipal Infrastructure and Finance Branch of Government Relations has an exciting opportunity for an energetic, confident, organized individual with good judgment and well-developed communications skills to join the team of advisors that manage and administer financial assistance and funding programs to the municipal sector.
Reporting to the Senior Program and Policy Advisor, you will provide guidance and advice to stakeholders, review and prepare grant payments, manage agreements, and review and process applications for various financial assistance programs including the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP). In addition, you will track and monitor financial and operational requirements related to various programs including forecasts and budget documents, monitor program effectiveness and delivery, recommend policy requirements, respond verbally or in writing to program inquiries, prepare a variety of correspondence, reports, briefings and participate as an active team member in consultations with program stakeholders.
Our candidate of choice will have knowledge of program administration, fiscal forecasting, and financial analysis. Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree or diploma in a field related to the responsibilities (such as public or business administration, accounting, finance) and other related experience in areas such as local government issues, long-term capital planning including asset management planning, fiscal forecasting/budget preparation, environmental or community sustainability planning, or by a combination of education and experience.
