PROGRAM SUMMARY

Artscape’s newest digital initiative, artsUNITE / UNITÉ des arts, is designed as a free, centralized, comprehensive, humanistic wayfinding service to support artists, creative entrepreneurs and the arts sector access available benefits and support. It will prepare artists for a world that is fundamentally different by providing a dynamic service that proactively adapts and responds to the changing needs of the sector to become a vital long-term support during recovery from the current pandemic, and future sector regeneration. artsUNITE / UNITÉ des arts aims to provide support and opportunities for growth across three phases: immediate relief, generating possibilities for artists’ remuneration and stabilizing for long-term recovery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program and Content Development

  • Support with the strategy, development and implementation of the artsUNITE Leadership Masterclass Series
    • Collaboration in creative development
    • Communication with artists and stakeholders
    • Assisting in pre-production, production, and post-production of video and podcast series, including both creative and administrative processes
    • Collaborating in creating, writing, and editing copy for educational tools and materials
  • Support creation of community-driven content, social content and programming in consultation with the Manager, Programs, and the artsUNITE team
  • Build a spirit of accessibility and collaboration while creating new and unique content through supporting and creating authentic relationships with all partners, artists, team members, and stakeholders
  • Support implementation of community and partnership outreach strategies
  • Coordinate delivery of content with internal and external project stakeholders and others, as required
  • Collaboration with web developers, marketing, and communications team


Support and Administration

  • Support with communications, logistics, and administration of the artsUNITE Leadership Masterclass Series
  • Day to day support of artsUNITE content, including content management and uploading
  • Assist in budget development, management, and reporting
  • Attend partnership meetings, and support the administration of collaborative online events
  • Support content processes for artsUNITE, through writing, editing and proofreading website copy
  • Other duties as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in attainment in theatre, events, business administration, project management or related field of study OR equivalent knowledge, skills, competencies, and abilities gained through alternative education or experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in community or arts program development and/or partnership coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver tasks and projects on time and on budget
  • Previous experience in customer service
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal Understanding of the mandate of artsUNITE and its context in the revitalization of Canada’s arts sector
  • Understanding of the power of arts and culture to support artsUNITE and Artscape’s mission in creative placemaking and community impact
  • Experience in working on projects that foster diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Medium level proficiency in Microsoft applications and Microsoft Office 365 (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Well organized, detail-oriented and a strong multitasker; Highly self-motivated, takes initiative
  • Experience in film or television production, including camera operation, producing, or editing - or similar experience is a strong asset
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken). Other languages are considered an asset.
