JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Project Leader.

We are seeking an experienced Project Leader to join our team on a capital project. As the Project Leader, you will be responsible for providing Information Management (IM) Specialist/SME advice and support to business functions, including Information Lifecycle Management, and ensuring compliance with IM Strategies, Policies, Standards, and Procedures. You will work closely with various project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to establish, execute and implement an IM Framework.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist with IM Framework establishment, execution, and implementation.
  • Advise business functions on the application of IM Strategies, Policies, Standards, and Procedures
  • Assist with the implementation of Information Governance initiatives, including development of Audit Reporting.
  • Provide direction for the day-to-day usage of Applications and Tools in compliance with IP Requirements, Document Discovery, Preservation Orders, and information sharing agreements.
  • Manage Records collection, including registration/storage/processing and retrieval of non-published items (e.g. company reports).
  • Develop Information Management training and awareness collateral for delivery to business functions.
  • Draft and Lead the Information and Data hand-over of project information and documentation in accordance with the agreed procedures.
  • Review the OPG’s Information and Data Management requirements for the project and develop The Information and Data Management related documentations (e.g. strategy, plan, procedures, templates, and guidelines) to be concluded in the project's setup.
  • Monitor all Information and Data interfaces with partners, contractors, sub-contractors, vendors or other third parties to ensure requirements are addressed, and coordinate with adequate stakeholders if necessary.
  • Coordinate/Advise all the project teams (e.g. Engineering, Supply Chain, Completion & Commissioning, and subcontractors) to ensure information and data requirements are understood and complied with.
  • Lead Digital/IT team to ensure that the Project DB and Tools are properly set up as per project requirement.
  • Coordinate and interface as OPG’s lead on all aspects of Information and Data Management.
  • Identify issues related to data quality, and coordinate with/support stakeholders populating the data to eliminate the issues.
  • Develop data quality objectives for the project with adequate KPIs to reflect the Project Information and Data Management.
  • Undertake the organizing, coordinating and controlling of all stages of project management in accordance with Project Management governance for assigned projects or project packages in all project phases from initiation to closeout, as circumstances require.
  • Utilize approved Project Management processes for phase-gating, integration, scope, schedule, cost, change control, estimating, communications and reporting, and risk.
  • Perform project management activities throughout the lifecycle of assigned projects, ensuring all project objectives and commitments are controlled and delivered within targets of safety, quality, budget and schedule.
  • Provide input into the preparation of project background information, contribute to scope and constructability reviews, assist in the preparation of Business Case Submissions to senior management, the Executive Office and the Board of Directors, for project approval and the release of funds. Prepare and coordinate the preparation of all information pertinent to an assigned project and alternatives to be considered for input into planning.
  • Initiate and coordinate scopes of work (WBS), estimates, schedules, risk management plans, project management plans, gate packages, and contract performance specifications.
  • Develop structures for estimating and controlling project cost and schedule. Gather input from stakeholder departments and agencies to ensure project requirements are captured and detailed in the estimate and execution plans.
  • Arrange for application to, and negotiate with internal and external agencies for all necessary approvals, licenses, permits or clearances required.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on cost and schedule, and manage changes. Review cost variance reports, provide explanations and recommendations for disposition of variances, and take corrective actions when required. Evaluate project plans at every stage for project risk and develop mitigation plans. Execute other project management functions as required by corporate policies and procedures.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or related field.
  • PMP certification

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a flexible hybrid office environment.
  • 6+ years experience in Project management, specifically, experience in developing project requirements and plans, preparing cost estimates, participating in request for proposal and contract bidding and award processes, managing projects in execution phase, and managing project closeout. Managing conflicting priorities of scope, schedule, cost and quality.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and forecasting as it relates to project management.
  • Experience and ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups in order to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in managing projects of increasing complexity is considered a necessary requirement. Project complexity would normally be defined by multiple-contract, multiple stakeholder projects with schedule constraints.
  • A period of over 6 years and up to and including 8 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IM strategies, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Experience with Information Governance initiatives, and Audit Reporting.
  • Proficient in the use of Applications and Tools to manage and store data.
  • Knowledge of Document Discovery, Preservation Orders, and information sharing agreements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge and experience working with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Aconex, Documentum and EDW tools
