Job Type: Full Time

Schedule: 8+ Hours/day, weekdays, possible schedule changes as per Operational Requirements

Location: Bruderheim, AB – 570079 Range Rd 204, non-camp position, approximately 12 km north of Bruderheim on Range Road 204

Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions

Requirements:

· Familiarity with aggregate and/or proppant testing according to API, CSA, and ASTM standards

· Experience using, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment

· Experience managing small teams is considered an asset

· Reliable personal transportation and driver’s license

· Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) or other quality system

Pre-employment:

· Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)

· Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

· Mask Fit Testing

· Baseline Testing (respiratory)

QAQC Technician Responsibilities:

· Analysis of materials at the plant including use of excel and other specialized software on computer.

· Supporting the production team in ensuring production efficiency and quality goals are met.

· Working directly with the production coordinators to ensure samples are collected and analyzed efficiently and information is communicated to the plant operators.

· Ensuring implementation of policies and procedures throughout the QAQC process.

· Perform routine inspections of lab space and materials by executing standard testing protocols.

· Obtain samples and perform sizing and quality tests of washed or finished sand grades.

· Train samplers on procedures and methods used in the QAQC process.

· Ensure the lab area is kept clean and in good working order.

· Perform tests and analyze results from defective or suspect units to determine the causes of the failure.

· Manage and oversee the calibration, operation, and routine maintenance of lab equipment.

· Identification of improvement areas, develop of solutions, and ability to implement solutions.

· Participate as a vital team member, and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required.

· Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

QAQC Technician Qualifications:

· Experience in a QAQC role within a processing facility – either mine or plant is preferred.

· Diploma or degree in civil engineering, geotechnical, or another similar field.

· Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or eligible to be certified with the Association of Science & Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET), Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of Alberta (APEGA) or similar Designation/Association.

· Field and laboratory experience in inspection and testing of construction materials.

· Knowledge of appropriate testing standards.

· Ability to operate field instruments and equipment.

· Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).

· Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel.
