  • Salaried range, depending on experience - $60k - $80 yearly – CDN –
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years.
  • Full benefits, competitive merit, pension remuneration (yearly merit increase and RRSP match), and annual bonus structure of 10% –to be discussed during the interviewing process.
  • Overtime hours required when needed, paid in addition to the salaried wage, OT as per ESA Standards.

Job Ad for Full-time SUPPLIER Quality Engineer – Automotive

Looking for a full-time Quality Engineer; please find the attached job description for the position.

We are looking for a trained and experienced SUPPLIER Quality Engineer with Automotive Manufacturing experience that can hit the floor running. We are looking for a motivated individual that can start as soon as possible. Below is the scope of required work services.

Scope of work services

  • Full-time hire status
  • Salary/pay rate – TBD – pending experience, education, skill, and ability.
  • Hours of work services – full-time Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm schedule, supporting potential three-shift operations within a Unionized environment.
  • Saturday and overtime required based on service support needs.
  • Start time, ASAP.

Applicant must possess work experience, education, skills, and abilities.

  • Preferred post-secondary education; minimum 3-5 years working experience Quality Engineer or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior supplier quality management experience is an asset.
  • Internal Auditing experience re: IATF 16949, including internal audits, LPAs, and supplier assessment audits. Contribute towards supplier sourcing decisions.
  • Knowledge of Core tools (PPAP, SPC, FMEA, MSA, APQP).
  • Demonstrate competency in blueprint reading, statistical techniques, and measurement.
  • Experience with FCA systems is an asset; WCM/Lean Manufacturing principles and practices with JIS/JIT and Inventory production systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between our company and the vendors to identify quality issues and develop solutions. Providing technical advice and guidance to nondirected suppliers to reduce defect rates.
  • Interface with the customer and suppliers on quality-related issues.
  • Lead the problem-solving activity for internal and external (customer and supplier) related quality issues in compliance with the Business Operating System and supporting documentation.
  • Manage suppliers and their containment activities, tracking clean points. Control further processing and delivery of nonconforming products until the deficiency is corrected.
  • Maintaining detailed reports on supplier quality, including defect rates. Disposition of supplier defects, including issuing chargebacks.
  • Manage incoming suppliers and products from vendors to check for defects and ensure quality.
  • Coordinate supplier representatives visiting in HBPO to review their defective products in preparation for disposition.
  • Supplier visits and sorts to be conducted in alignment with the contractor training program for health and safety.
  • Visit supplier facilities and observe their manufacturing environment to review and assess their procedures in alignment with HBPO requirements.
  • Communicate with vendors regularly to address any concerns and foster an environment that facilitates continual improvement in working relationships.
  • Monitoring supplier performance to ensure they meet quality standards and deadlines.
  • Supplier development, train suppliers on quality requirements. Maintaining relationships with suppliers.
  • Review, disposition, and document communication of discrepancies for supplier sample submissions of new or changed advanced program materials.
  • Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to products, processes & systems.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through the appropriate channels and verify implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality on products, services, and processes.
  • Strong ability to perform and multitask multiple assignments and job functions.
  • Strong organizational and communication (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced Unionized work environment.
  • Facilitate communication between shifts on documentation changes/ updates.
  • Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety.
  • Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.
  • Advise the Department Manager of those situations that may pose a significant risk to the program, product assurance, facilities, employee safety or customer satisfaction results.
