We are seeking a Senior Property Analyst (PA) to join the Production Accounting & Royalties department! In this role the PA will report to the Manager, North Conventional Production Accounting, and could apply your strong production accounting skills. Your strong analytical skills will help Cenovus improve our processes and make the entire team more productive while helping to mentor staff in the area. Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the production/revenue accountant team
  • Full cycle of production accounting, including all aspects of production, revenue, and royalty reporting completed accurately and meeting all target dates.
  • Analysis of production, revenue, royalties, and reconciling items to the general ledger.
  • Master file set ups, changes, EPAP, and SOX compliance.
  • Assisting operational teams with accounting and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and implement all changes impacting properties as a result of regulatory changes, measurement, sophisticated allocations and audits.
  • Ability to review operating agreements and marketing contracts to ensure the accurate handling of allocations and equalizations.
  • Actively participate, find opportunities for improvement and provide support in desk reviews and property audits.
  • Configure new properties and complex property flow changes.
  • Provide back-up coverage as required.
  • Ad hoc projects as required.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in full cycle production accounting
  • Extensive experience in Alberta based properties, complex gas plants and enhanced oil recovery.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of allocations, measurement, audit, and processes.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Outstanding Excel skills, data management and reporting capabilities.
  • Teammate with ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) with the ability to communicate with Finance, Operations and Engineering teams.
  • Works well in a fast paced/changing environment that is deadline driven.
  • Well organized and with validated multitasking & prioritization skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree and CAPPA certificate or equivalent work experience.
  • Experienced in using Production Accounting Systems (Metrix), Petrinex, Field Data Capture Systems, ERP Systems (SAP), Land Systems.
