Looking for an experienced, hands-on Real Estate Controller.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring general accounting practices, developing internal accounting controls, building and maintaining a strong relationship with partners and is comfortable communicating directly with senior leaders.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to

• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
• Manage monthly closing for real estate entities which includes monthly journal entries, preparing supporting workpapers and review general ledger
• Prepare financial statements monthly and annually focusing on accurate and timely reporting of results, including but not limited to bank reconciliation’s, investments, fixed assets, accounts payable/receivable and any other inter-company account
• Approve invoices to ensure property coding of GL account and entity cost center
• Assist in the preparation of the year-end audit file
• Make sure corporate books are updated and prepare all documents
• Review fixed assets additions and preparation of depreciation reports
• Weekly payroll runs
• Maintain relationship with operational leaders in order to identify process
• Ensure proper internal controls are in place to reduce risk and ensure the safe-keeping of the Company’s assets

Job Requirements

• 7+ years working as a Controller, commercial an asset
• Knowledge in full accounting cycle (strong accounting background)
• Must possess a strong personality, be tech savvy, dynamic and multi-tasker with the capability of working in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication skills; bilingual (French and English)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must have strong attention to detail & be proactive
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills
