Receiving Specialist- Afternoons Job at Sunset

Our Kingsville Distribution Center, a 150,000 sq. ft. refrigerated facility operating 24/7, is currently seeking a Receiving Specialist to join our team. The essential function of this position is to provide exceptional customer support through ensuring the accuracy of inventory movement and warehousing. Accuracy in both receiving and inventory are paramount. This role will
perform quality inspections on all inbound product to ensure that product meets grower specifications and
Mastronardi Produce Specification requirements.

Shift: 3:00pm-11:00pm

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Receive incoming shipments in a timely fashion, attach date code and label.
  • Inspect shipment(s) for quality and count.
  • Enter invoices accurately into the computer program.
  • Report any product quality issues immediately to the supervisor.
  • Rotate product according to size, date and quantity.
  • Operate forklift to transport product; organize and group similar product together.
  • Ensure product or materials are returned and stored properly back in inventory.
  • Perform quality audits according to the Mastronardi Produce Quality Audit Program using established
acceptance criteria outlined in computerized audit check-sheets and Food Safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and review department audit reports and non-conformance reports using objective evidence
collected.
  • Conduct the required number of audits to meet the Receiving Department objectives set by the
Receiving/Inbound Manager.
  • Review and assist with non-conformance findings with department supervisor/manager.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Good communication and reading skills in English as well as basic mathematic skills
  • Inspection/audit experience or knowledge of quality systems, HACCP, ISO 9001, GMP, etc considered an
asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must have ability to effectively follow-up and handle multiple projects with strong personal timemanagement skills and effectively manage associated stress.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Need to be creative, adaptable and able to
accurately handle out-of-the-ordinary issues with a sense of urgency.
  • Experience operating a forklift would be an asset.
Working Conditions:
  • Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 50 degrees
Fahrenheit. The background noise approaches 70 dcbs.
  • Capable of lifting at least 30 lbs.
  • Position requires standing for 8 hours or more per day.
  • Position requires walking and bending on a regular basis.
  • Must have manual dexterity to perform computer skills as needed.
