Your Opportunity:

This is a graduate Nurse position for the next 9 months, allowing extended mentorship. You will build your resume with work in Rural Continuing Care, along with working to full scope, including leadership opportunities. This position is located at the Rising Sun Long Term Care within the Oilfields General Hospital in the town of Black Diamond 15 minutes west of Okotoks. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with a variety of disciplines including LPNs, Health Care Aides, Rehabilitation Staff, Recreation Therapy, Pharmacy and the Physicians group to promote, maintain or restore health. The Registered Nurse actively engages in health promotion, chronic disease management and enhancing the patient’s activities of daily living. You will work with a collaborative, dedicated, multi-disciplinary team to expand your skills as a new registered nurse. Rural nursing is a unique and challenging setting, and we hope that you will join us to continue expanding your skills as a Registered Nurse.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.17/hour - $42.96/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Nursing program within the last year. Strong interest in Continuing Care. Passion for growing your career with mentorship guidance. The RN at the Rising Sun requires the ability to tolerate constant walking, standing, kneeling, bending, reaching and sustaining posture within a fast-paced unit requiring lifting, pushing, pulling of objects greater than 50lbs.
