The Risk and Security Manager provides a system for all Directors, Assistant Directors, Managers, Supervisors and Pack Members regarding security of the building and identifying risks and threats to the organization while establishing positive relationships within the organization. This leadership role offers a level of service that exceeds guest expectations and will assist to achieve lodge goals and targets.All Great Wolf Lodge Pack Members are fully committed to the following for fellow Pack and Guests.

The security department operates 24 hours per day, weekends and holidays included. All security personnel must be available to cover all shifts.

Primary Duties

  • Securing premises and people by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment and access points to any and all areas throughout the property
  • Deter/Prevent crime; Investigate security breaches and suspicious behavior.
  • Respond to and assist in the investigation of Pack and guest incidents
  • Manage and monitor large crowds; Ensure traffic is managed and controlled
  • Write detailed, accurate reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities.
  • Implement the Emergency Response Plan as required
  • Schedule and lead Risk and Security meetings; Create, implement and communicate security policies and procedures.
  • Oversees departmental training programs and development of managers and supervisors; Supports Directors as required.
  • Keep areas in like-new condition, website ready; Close with an open mentality.
  • Presents self and department to the guest as a lodge ambassador of safety for all.
  • Assists in formulating and maintaining departmental budget.
  • Evaluates, creates and implements efficiencies for improved operational and service standards.
  • Develop and track KPI’s
  • Review and make recommendations to any of the above systems through continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Previous Risk and Security experience, 5 years minimum in a leadership
  • Valid Security License (in accordance with the Ministry of Ontario)
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License
  • Proven customer service and leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to make quick and sound decisions

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Sit, walk and/or stand for long periods; ability to monitor and work outdoors, year-round as needed.
