YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:


Reporting to the Community Relations Coordinator, the Community Liaison Officer is part of the Community Relations Department and is the main community ambassador in its respective community. The CLO will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Actively participate in the organization, representation and delivery of AEM in various types of community meetings/events (family day, community events, hamlet meetings, consultation meetings, Mining awareness programs, etc.);
  • Ensure community members have access to different kinds of information regarding AEM operations;
  • Provide Agnico Eagle with relevant community feedback and/or information such as issues, challenges, complaints that may arise and/or any relevant information related to the community;
  • Support the Agnico Eagle Donations program (meetings, documentation, promotion, follow ups)
  • Support Inuit employment team and/or actively participate in:
    • Advertisement process of job openings with AEM:
    • Online application support for potential employees;
    • Interview process;
    • Pre-employment programs organization and delivery;
    • Recruitment events in the community;
  • Support Human Resource teams in:
    • Providing information and documentation to AEM employees when required;
    • Assisting HR and other AEM departments to contact employees as required;
    • Contact employees in advance of their shift departure times.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • High School Degree or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
  • Comfortable interacting with community members by phone or in person;
  • Demonstrates autonomy and resourcefulness;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written);
  • Possess a valid class 5 driver's license is considered as an asset;
  • Ability to do translation/and or interpretation from English to Inuktitut is considered as an asset.
