POSITION SUMMARY

The cosmetic industry is a dynamic, creative and exciting industry. The candidate will work in the lab to formulate colour cosmetic products with varying degrees of complexity. He/she/They will develop new product ideas/concepts that will provide consumer inspiring formulas and future growth for the company. The individual will ensure the timely completion of product development activities from bench to market.

THE ROLE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the formulation and development of calendarized colour cosmetic products and modifications of existing products with minimal supervision and technical competency
  • Develops colour makeup formulations and processes firmly based upon a science-based approach
  • Operate laboratory equipment, follow R&D procedures, and document development and experimental results
  • Confirms formulation stability and ensures commercial feasibility.
  • Collaborates with Process Development & contributes in establishing manufacturing procedures.
  • Follows projects from prototype development through manufacturing.
  • Designs & conducts experiments, summarizes data from experiments. Communicates results to discuss next steps with senior team members.
  • Recognizes & shares new approaches/observations to drive innovations.
  • Actively searches and develops new ideas/concepts, breakthrough technologies from a variety of industries, and be able to translate into tangible cosmetic products.
  • Stays abreast of developing trends in the Cosmetic field.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, safety, and GMP.

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science required, Masters or Ph.D. an asset
  • 3-5 years hands-on, related experience
  • Project management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Prioritization and time management skills.
  • Team player with groups both inside and outside of the organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry and broad cosmetic/drug regulatory experience preferred.
  • Fully proficient and experienced with Windows Office, Excel and Outlook and computer applications.
