D U T I E S
Safety, Health and Security Services is recruiting for casual Security Officer positions. Security
Officers are an integral part of the department team. The Security Officer needs to be highly
motivated, self directed, and service orientated. They will be working in a collaborative and fast
paced environment. Reporting to the Manager, Security Services, this position will be required to
provide assistance and direction to students, faculty, staff and visitors to ensure that they receive
an excellent customer service experience. The Security Officer will be responsible to respond and
investigate complaints while maintaining accurate records. This position will work not only within a
multidisciplinary team but also be required to work independently while conducting foot and/or
mobile patrols. The Security Officer will be responsible for mobile patrols of outlying RRC spaces
within Winnipeg and Regional campuses. The Security Officer plays a key role in the College's
Emergency Preparedness Program.

R E Q U I R E D Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
  • Grade 12 education
  • Valid Province of Manitoba Security Guard license
  • Experience in providing security services
  • Experience in writing clear and concise reports
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and work independently during assigned shifts
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective conflict resolution skills
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and

continuous improvement

A S S E T S
  • Experience operating CCTV, alarm monitoring, and door access, patrol systems
  • Experience working within diverse populations
C O N D I T I O N S O F E M P L O Y M E N T
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check
  • Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Incumbent must be physically capable of performing the duties and responsibilities of the
position. A medical certificate from a certified physician will be required.
  • May be required to work at various RRC campuses
  • Must be available to work various shifts, including weekends and overnights which are 6:30pm-
6:30 am. Priority to be given to those able to work overnight.
  • Valid Manitoba Drivers License
