We will count on you to:

  • Review financial and compensation data analyses prepared by analysts, ensuring it is accurately calculating desired information.
  • Review and/or develop exhibits based on collected and calculated data. Perform data analysis using advanced dynamic Excel modeling. Understand project components and processes to make sure analyses are correct.
  • Serve as a day-to-day client contact for project areas including data requests and data management.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, including fact-finding interviews and presentations.
  • Write and structure client presentations/reports. Review Excel exhibits in PowerPoint presentations and initial conclusions prepared by analysts. Draw conclusions from the data for project managers' and senior consultants' review.
  • Work closely with project managers and senior consultants on the project to determine the exhibits to be included in the final client presentations which typically involve a high level of customization.
  • Apply computer and research skills to understand financial performance, talent management trends, and pay practices and policies for a particular client and within the broader marketplace.
  • Use Research Insight and public filings to gather financial data.
  • Develop and review peer groups - lists of organizations against which the client organization is compared (e.g., based on revenue, brand, industry, etc.) and/or are the client's direct competitors
  • Use Mercer's proprietary tools and public filings to gather pay practices and policies. May also research other sources to solicit industry knowledge, company news, competitor reports on industry trends, etc.
  • Provide guidance to project team analysts and ensures timely delivery of work and achievement of project objectives.
  • Typically manages smaller projects and work streams of larger client projects.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with significant course work in finance, statistics, mathematics, HR, or accounting.
  • Three or more years of related experience in compensation, finance, consulting, or human resources.
  • Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, attention to detail, and a strong background in Excel.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams on multiple projects.
  • Ability to juggle simultaneous priorities and demands.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work under tight timelines and changing client needs.

What makes you stand out:

  • MBA, CFA, CA, or equivalent designation would be a strong asset.
