Senior Java Developer with our client for a
3-month contract opportunity.
Role Description: Our client is looking for a Senior Java developer to work on J2EE-based multi-tier web applications. The successful candidates are expected to adopt our client’s development methodology and to work on modernizing J2EE-based mission-critical systems.

Role Description: Our client is looking for a Senior Java developer to work on J2EE-based multi-tier web applications. The successful candidates are expected to adopt our client’s development methodology and to work on modernizing J2EE-based mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Work within a team to upgrade existing J2EE applications to work with the latest versions of Java and corresponding frameworks and libraries.
- Provide solutions to identified security vulnerabilities.
- Implement code that complies with the latest standards of OWASP.
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements.
- Assist QA to resolve issues that arise during QA Testing.
- Provide knowledge transfer to our client's development and QA teams.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of development experience with Java EE.
- 10+ years of development experience with SQL.
- 6+ years of experience developing in Eclipse
- 6+ years of experience with XML.
- 6+ years of experience working with Oracle databases and WebLogic.
- 6 +years of experience with creating cross-browser friendly and cross-platform friend web applications using JSP, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Experience with jQuery/AJAX.
- Experience with Struts 1.
- Experience in secure development conforming to OWASP standards.
- Experience converting legacy applications to J2EE.
- Experience integrating with other systems using REST API or other 3rd party web services.
- Experience in performance optimization techniques for custom-built applications.
- Demonstrated superior analytical, problem-solving, and judgement skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and able to manage simultaneous priorities, pressures, and deadlines.
- Ability to learn and quickly comprehend technical and business concepts.
- Working for public agencies and/or social service organizations.
