Position Summary

Working with the International HR teams and hiring managers the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition will be responsible for the Talent Acquisition services to make sure Alexion hires the most talented people and enables the growth in the region.

Based in Mississauga, CA, the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition will lead recruitment activities on assigned projects often business-critical and/ or leadership roles, will manage external recruitment agencies (when appropriate), and will also provide research, sourcing, and pre-qualification support as needed for other recruitment projects.

Principal Responsibilities


In working with the Director, TAq Lead, HR Managers, and Hiring Managers:

  • Manage end-to-end the Sourcing and Selection process to hire the best talent through a diverse channel mix
  • Conduct an intake meeting with the hiring manager providing guidance and advice on the appropriate TA strategy
  • Directly initiate contact with both active and passive job candidates as assigned for specific searches utilizing appropriate sourcing methods
  • Conduct pre-screening phone/ video calls and face to face interviews
  • Make effective assessments of candidates’ skills/ experiences and appropriate interview/ hiring recommendations
  • Manage the review, pre-qualification, and distribution of incoming resumes submitted via Alexion website and other sources
  • Articulate Alexion’s value proposition and take all necessary steps to provide a positive candidate experience
  • Train HR Manager and Hiring Managers on TA systems, interview techniques and other TA methodologies where appropriate
  • Partners with HRBP`s and Hiring Managers on building pipelines for business-critical roles
  • Works on international TA projects to enhance the services

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the above-mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.


Qualifications – Essential

  • Minimum 5 years in an HR talent acquisition, HR Manager or Business Partner role
  • Demonstration of a strong track record of providing in house sourcing, pipeline building and selection of talent at all levels of an international organization preferably with a regional scope
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals/ biotechnology managing the end to end candidate selection process
  • High quality handling and solving of customer queries and problems
  • Character/ personality traits: self-starter, customer focus, drive for results, interpersonal savvy, strong negotiation skills, pro-active, learning agility
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate new information and translate into actionable recruitment-related strategies and activities
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, functions, and cultures/ geographies as a basis for developing sourcing strategies and talent acquisition plans
  • Works effectively in both individual and team-based settings and projects
  • Extensive experience of using direct sourcing channels like social networking sites
  • Experience working with candidate/ recruitment management systems
  • Formal interview/ selection training experience preferred.

Education

  • Educated to Degree level (Degree in HR, Business or similar)
  • Fluency in English, other language capabilities a plus
