The Employment and Training Division with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development is looking for motivated individuals with leadership capacity to lead multi-disciplinary staff within a team environment in the delivery of programs and services to ensure a skilled workforce.

Our focus is on delivering employment and training services to citizens across the province of Ontario. We are seeking to hire individuals who find fulfillment by strengthening our ability to provide a diverse network of community-based agencies funded to deliver skills training, employment preparation, literacy and basic skills services to youth and adults across Ontario.

About Us

The Employment and Training Division supports programs and services that ensure a skilled workforce by providing apprenticeship training and services to ensure Ontario has the skills to compete and succeed; preparing unemployed Ontarians to enter or re-enter the workforce and helping students find summer employment; providing literacy, numeracy and basic skills upgrading to assist people to enter or re-enter the workforce; helping internationally trained individuals to successfully integrate into the economy; providing assistance to workers facing business closures or other significant workforce adjustments; and providing policy, planning and research support on labour market and training matters.

What can I expect to do in this role?

As the Service Delivery Manager you will:

  • Provide leadership and direction in an assigned geographic area for the establishment of a service delivery framework for provincial employment programs and services including human resources, interventions, income support assistance and outreach within the community
  • Provide clients with access to effective labour market services
  • Manage the office operations and multi-disciplinary staff within a team environment including accountability for a large program budget
  • Lead in the development of local strategies and activities to support the delivery of responsive employment programs and services to the public aligned with emerging priorities market conditions and government directions

Mandatory

Cornwall position:
  • You are proficient in oral and written French at the advanced level.

  • Preparing clear and concise reports in support of the delivery of employment programs and services.
  • Demonstrating interpersonal skills used to consult and develop collaborative partnerships with stakeholders, delivery partners and staff.
  • Having the ability to lead the delivery of programs and services through both staff and transfer payment agencies.
  • Having experience in establishing positive working relationships with community organizations.


Your technical expertise is defined as:

  • Having knowledge of risk-based program delivery, transfer payment accountability and community development.
  • Having the ability to lead the delivery of programs and services using a performance management approach.
  • Being proficient with various computer applications and program databases, including information management systems to measure the effectiveness of program and service delivery.
