Title: Summer Student

Location: Fort St. John, BC

Direct Report: Land Services Manager

Canada West Land Services has an opportunity for a driven, adaptable, and team-focused individual to join our team as a summer student. CWL is seeking a dynamic individual with a strong administrative support background to support our Fort St. John office. The Summer Student Program will run from June 6th, 2023, to August 31st, 2023. The successful candidate will be required to live in Fort St. John and operate out of the CWL office.

Role and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to;

• Participate in a team environment, working closely with Project Managers and co-workers
• Special projects and supporting all members of the Surface Land Team as required
• Assist with data integrity/maintenance of surface files
• Help with capital projects (new well and pipeline acquisition)
• Communicate and deliver project information to stakeholders
• Document activities thoroughly including entering project updates and contact summaries
• Perform a wide range of technical and administrative functions;
• Prepare and organize correspondence, perform word processing functions
• Perform other duties as required

Preferred Experience and Qualifications Include:

• 0 to 3 years working on land projects, preference given to candidates with experience working in a broker environment
• Post-secondary education in land or related field, with experience working in the Oil and Gas Industry (Environmental, Government or other) would be considered an asset.
• Experience with landowners, acquisition, consultation and oil and gas industry would be considered an asset
• Able to communicate timely, clearly, and concisely, by phone, in person and email
• Able to manage tight deadlines and time constraints
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Highly motivated with the ability to take initiative and have exceptional strong work ethic
• Demonstrate solid critical thinking skills and effective problem-solving skills
• Exceptional organization and highly detail-oriented individual
• Proactive, action-oriented individual
• Some Travel Required
