McMan is looking fora Full Time Transportation Support Worker for the Supervised Family Time Program in Medicine Hat.

The Supervised Family Time program creates meaningful visits with families by creating a safe, secure, and supportive environment which respects the service participant’s right to participate in all decisions affecting them; create a healthy emotional environment by establishing and maintaining a positive working relationship with service participant. The Support Worker provides transportation to families and individuals for appointments, connection to natural supports and visits with family members. This position may provide transportation within Medicine Hat, but outside city requests are a regular occurrence so they also will be required to drive on highways and within other cities. The role also will complete required documentation and contact notes to accurately describe any interactions while providing supports. The Support Worker may also support visits within the Supervised Visit program on occasion if there are no transport requests that day. Evening and weekend (Saturdays typically) availability is required.

Here is how you will contribute as a Transportation Support Worker:

ó Provide transportation throughout Alberta to facilitate family connections, medical appointments and other requests from Children’s Services for children, youth, and their families.

ó Assist Visit Coaches with supervised visitation as per Children’s Services referrals.

ó Build positive and collaborative relationships with children, youth, families, and other supports

ó Provide detailed documentation for Children’s Services

Required Qualifications:

o Diploma in human services or related field and a member in good standing with the applicable professional association. A combination of experience and education may be considered.

o Experience working with children, youth, and adults.

o Flexible schedule required as shifts may be a combination of day, evening, and occasional weekends

o Excellent written, interpersonal, administrative, and organizational skills.

o An essential function of the position is the ability to carry a minimum of 44 pounds to allow for carrying children and car seats

o Clear Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector and Child Intervention Check dated within the past six months

o Driver’s Abstract with less than six (6) demerits, valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License, use of reliable vehicle and minimum $2M Third Party Liability insurance to carry passengers.

o Standard First Aid CPR Level C or CSA Standard Z1210-17 Intermediate First Aid Certificate.
