Class 1 Truck Driver: Flat Deck

We are looking for a Class 1 Flat Deck Truck driver to join the Sutco Transportation team in Chilliwack, BC. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct pre and post and trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, road worthiness and regulatory compliance.
• Operate Super-B or Quad flat deck truck & trailer to deliver freight including but not limited to lumber, construction materials etc., to destinations in Canada and the United States.
• Ensure safe transportation of freight by securing goods whilst loading and unloading.
• Tarp loads as requested
• Chain-up vehicle based on road conditions.
• Plan your driving routes using maps or GPS tracking.
• Manage your time responsibly to reach the destination by the predetermined time.
• Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
• Complete all electronic records regarding working hours, vehicle status and maintenance records using the industry's best fleet management system, ISAAC.
• Remain compliant with Federal Hours of Service regulations
• Ensure trucks are left clean and safe at the end of each shift.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

As a member of the Sutco Transportation team, we expect you bring the following to the table:

• Class 1 Driver's Licence
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• 2 years of trucking experience preferred
• Mountain driving and Super-B experience preferred
• Clean driver's abstract (please attach one with the application)
• Experience securing and tarping flat deck loads

• A desire to maximize their hours, miles and income.
• Ability to enter the US for work purposes preferred.
