Position: IT System Administrator Summer Student
Location: Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC
Status: Student position (full-time from May to September), 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

Quadra Chemicals is seeking a motivated and talented Summer Student to join our team as an IT System Administrator Summer Student. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with various system administration tasks. The intern will work closely with our experienced professionals to gain hands-on and valuable experience in a dynamic and challenging environment.

The Summer Student will work closely with our IT teams. The selected candidate will receive a mentor to provide guidance and feedback on their projects. The Summer Student will have the opportunity to work on projects that will make a significant impact on our organization's cloud posture.

What would be your main responsibilities over the Summer ?:

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure and servers.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network and server issues to ensure system stability and security.
• Provide technical support to end-users and assist in resolving hardware and software issues.
• Maintain documentation related to system administration tasks and processes.
• Assist with backup to tape decommissioning activities.
• Perform decommissioning activities for end of support virtual servers
• Perform Daily monitoring administrative tasks
• Assist with Active Directory administrative tasks

The ideal candidate would prosses the following:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and other network services and protocols
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of Active Directory and Windows Server operating systems
• Familiarity with GPO and basic security concepts
• Familiarity with basic cybersecurity concepts such as phishing, email threats, security mindset
• Experience with virtualization technologies and public clouds (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure, AWS) is a plus
• Scripting abilities: PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Ansible
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Work Environment:

• Monday to Friday; Day shift
• 37.5 hours per week
