Job description

Working at the Edmonton South Collision Reporting Centre the successful candidate will prepare motor vehicle collision reports for Police, photograph damaged vehicles, & assist drivers in the initial stages of reporting their collision to their Insurer. The successful candidate must be able to travel between our Edmonton locations on an as-needed basis.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the performance management of Customer Service Representatives including all training, evaluating, reporting, and staff management;
  • Greet visitors, determine their needs and direct them accordingly through the reporting process;
  • Communicate the reporting process with clients and explain the necessary information required to proceed;
  • Respond to telephone inquiries or forward callers to the appropriate person or authority;
  • Liaise with and provide exceptional customer service skills to the public, police, and insurance companies;
  • Evaluate whether a collision meets the eligibility requirements to be reported at the collision reporting center (CRC);
  • Verify driver documents (licence, ownership, and insurance);
  • Interview and/or audit drivers to determine collision details;
  • Data enter information using custom software in order to produce collision reports for Police, Insurance and the Alberta Transportation;
  • Photograph vehicle damage and upload images into collision report; to be done outdoors, in all weather conditions;
  • Organize and co-ordinate workflow between CRC and Police personnel;
  • Operate digital scanner to transfer paper documents to digital file database; and
  • Assist drivers in the initial stages of reporting to Insurance.

Other

  • Support the management team in the daily operations of the centre, including the daily operations of the office including quality control, and facility management.
  • Support in recruiting, hiring, and training of front-line staff and manage their scheduling;
  • Ensuring company policies and procedures are being followed (dress code, retention, reporting to insurance, insurance handouts, phone usage, punctuality etc.); and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work;
  • One to two (1-2) years of experience in an customer service or retail position; previous experience with data entry is an asset;
  • Able to undergo and pass additional background testing; complete criminal background check;
  • Available to work flexible hours and shifts as required;
  • Excellent keyboarding and customer service skills are a requirement;
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills;
  • Must have high attention to detail;
  • Must have basic knowledge of computer programs;
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision; and
  • Must have the ability to manage frequently changing priorities in a fast paced and often high-pressure environment

Working Conditions

  • Able to work on a computer for long periods of time;
  • Required to work in a busy, open area office which may result in constant interruptions;
  • May be required to stand for extended periods of time during shifts;
  • Required to photograph damaged vehicles outdoors, in all weather conditions
  • Required attention to detail and high level of data accuracy
  • Required to spend long hours concentrating which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy; and
  • Required to meet number of deadlines

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00 per hour

Education:
